Job summary

Xcel Energy offers an MPG-FA Project Intern position to gain hands-on experience supporting active energy generation projects, including wind, solar, battery storage, and combustion turbine developments. The intern will assist with project coordination, data collection, reporting, and construction support activities.

The program combines office and site work, exposing you to field activities, project teams, and real utility-scale infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Currently a student in an ABET-accredited Electrical or Civil Engineering program.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours/week) and part-time during the school year.
• Willingness to travel to construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Support project tracking, reporting, and documentation.
• Participate in field visits to active construction sites.
• Collaborate with project managers, coordinators, engineers, and contractors.
• Learn project development and construction processes for wind, solar, battery storage, and combustion turbine facilities.
• Complete assigned tasks under supervision while following established procedures and safety requirements.
