Job summary

Dewberry seeks a site/civil energy Project Manager to lead a portfolio of energy infrastructure and utility projects across Florida and the Southeast. You will oversee planning, design, permitting, and construction, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and clients.

The role emphasizes leadership, budget control, and business development, with opportunities to mentor junior staff and collaborate across Dewberry offices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Landscape Architecture, or related field required.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience managing energy, utility, renewable energy, or infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida, or ability to obtain Florida licensure within 12 months, preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary teams and complex projects.
  • Experience with utility infrastructure, renewable energy, power delivery, site development, or capital improvement projects.
  • Strong understanding of permitting, regulatory approvals, and construction administration.
  • Experience working with state and local agencies to obtain project approvals.
  • Proven business development and client management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage site/civil transmission, distribution, substation infrastructure, and renewable energy projects from planning through construction.
  • Serve as the primary client contact and maintain strong relationships with utility providers, developers, public agencies, and project stakeholders.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing plans.
  • Manage project financial performance, including forecasting, invoicing, collections, and contract compliance.
  • Coordinate and lead multidisciplinary technical teams and subconsultants.
  • Provide project strategy, technical oversight, and quality control reviews.
  • Support permitting and regulatory approval processes with local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Lead proposal development, client presentations, and responses to RFQs and RFPs.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for new and repeat business.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff and emerging project managers.
  • Collaborate proactively with other Dewberry offices and practice areas to deliver integrated solutions.
