Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage site/civil transmission, distribution, substation infrastructure, and renewable energy projects from planning through construction.
  • Serve as the primary client contact and maintain strong relationships with utility providers, developers, public agencies, and project stakeholders.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing plans.
  • Manage project financial performance, including forecasting, invoicing, collections, and contract compliance.
  • Coordinate and lead multidisciplinary technical teams and subconsultants.
  • Provide project strategy, technical oversight, and quality control reviews.
  • Support permitting and regulatory approval processes with local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Lead proposal development, client presentations, and responses to RFQs and RFPs.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for new and repeat business.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff and emerging project managers.
  • Collaborate proactively with other Dewberry offices and practice areas to deliver integrated solutions.

Job Description

Dewberry has an exciting opportunity for a full-time site/civil energy Project Manager within our Energy and Commercial Utility Group. This position offers the opportunity to manage a portfolio of energy infrastructure, utility, renewable energy, and capital improvement projects throughout Florida and the Southeast.

As a site/civil Energy Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing project execution, managing client relationships, providing technical leadership, and ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants while supporting business development efforts that drive growth within the energy and utility sectors.

The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, technical knowledge of energy and utility infrastructure (transmission, distribution, substation), and experience leading projects through planning, design, permitting, and construction. This role requires regular interaction with energy utility clients, developers, government agencies, and internal teams.

Collaboration with other Dewberry offices on project pursuits and resource sharing is expected. Periodic travel to client offices, regulatory agencies, and project sites throughout Florida will be required.

Required Skills & Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Landscape Architecture, or related field required.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience successfully managing energy, utility, renewable energy, or infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida, or ability to obtain Florida licensure within 12 months, preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary teams and complex projects.
  • Experience with utility infrastructure, renewable energy, power delivery, site development, or capital improvement projects.
  • Strong understanding of permitting, regulatory approvals, and construction administration.
  • Experience working with state and local agencies to obtain project approvals.
  • Proven business development and client management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Preferred Experience

  • Florida regulated electric utility, civil infrastructure for transmission, distribution and substation
