Job summary

OakTree Staffing is seeking a Project/Cost Controller to support large energy capital projects in Houston. You will oversee cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and EVMS reporting, interfacing with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in project controls, strong Excel skills, and experience with Oracle or Primavera. Travel may be required, and the role emphasizes accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of project controls or financial analysis experience.
• Strong knowledge of cost forecasting, budgeting and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, Primavera) preferred.
• Ability to analyze data and generate accurate reports.
• Proficient in MS Excel (pivot tables, formulas) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide project control support to PM team overseeing large energy capital projects.
• Manage cost control, financial reporting, invoice processing, PO management.
• Prepare budget status reviews, committed costs, change orders.
• Develop and maintain EVMS reporting and cost baselines.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement and construction teams.
