Job summary

Jacobs is seeking anInstrumentation & Controls Engineer for energy and power projects. The role focuses on design delivery, instrument specification, DCS/PLC logic, and collaboration with multiple geographies to deliver reliable energy solutions.

You’ll work in a multidisciplinary team, lead control-system development, and mentor junior staff while supporting proposals and client relationships. A PE license within a year is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• At least 2 years of design, consulting, or operations experience.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers across geographies to deliver projects.
• Experience in instrument specification, PLC or DCS control systems, P&ID development, control system architecture development, SCADA systems.
• Experience with industrial DCS/PLC logic, graphics development, hardware implementation (AB PLC, Emerson Ovation, Siemens T3000 or GE MarkVIe).
• Experience commissioning control systems, troubleshooting to maintain high availability.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specifications and drawings, write control system descriptions, perform startup and commissioning activities.
• Specify instrumentation such as pressure and flow transmitters, switches, and control valves for large power projects.
• Design SCADA/OT networks including DCS/PLC, servers/workstations, switches, and firewalls.
• Collaborate with other disciplines on large projects to implement control concepts.
• Contribute to proposals and client relationships and business development.
