Job summary

Jacobs is expanding its Energy & Power Solutions team and seeks a senior-level instrumentation and controls engineer for utility-scale projects and campus/state/federal energy initiatives. You will lead design, specify instrumentation, and develop SCADA/DCS architectures for large power projects.

The role emphasizes consulting, design, and EPC delivery with opportunities in Owner’s Engineer roles. Hybrid work model and multi-disciplinary collaboration are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in EE, ME, CE or related
• 10+ years design, consulting, or operations
• Ability to lead multi-person teams
• 10 years of instrument specification, PLC/DCS, P&ID, SCADA
• Experience with DCS/PLC graphics, hardware implementation (AB, Ovation, Siemens, GE)
• Experience commissioning control systems
• PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year
• Proven client engagement and project delivery
• Ability to work independently and mentor juniors
• Strong communication and technical writing
• Availability to work at least 3 days/week

Responsibilities

• Prepare specifications and drawings, write control system descriptions, start-up and commissioning.
• Specify instrumentation: pressure/flow transmitters, switches, and control valves.
• Design SCADA and OT networks including DCS/PLC, servers, switches and firewalls.
• Collaborate with other disciplines on large designs and client relationships.
• Lead teams of engineers and designers to deliver projects.
