Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Energy and Power Discipline Leader to guide electrification, renewables, and EV fleet initiatives for federal, state, and local clients. You will craft concepts, strategy, and tactical processes to integrate electrification into evolving grid operations.

The role emphasizes thought leadership in distributed energy resources, microgrids, and battery technologies, with opportunities to mentor staff and lead multi-disciplinary teams across projects nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or Electrical Technology or related discipline. PE license preferred or required.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; travel frequency varies by duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the development of analysis, evaluation, design, and approaches to support electric vehicle fleet adoption by clients.
• Provide electrification and renewable energy advisory and design support to nationwide clients.
• Educate and provide intel to internal leaders on new policies and funding opportunities for electrification.
• Lead qualitative and quantitative analysis, including financial modeling and cost-benefit analyses.
• Champion R&D initiatives related to green electrification and renewable energy.
• Lead cross-functional teams in developing and implementing complex strategic efforts.
• Be a seller and a doer, guiding clients while shaping mobility strategy.
• Collaborate across departments to advance the evolving discipline.
• Mentor technical staff and collaborate with researchers, vendors, and clients.
• Lead webinars and technical luminescence activities to promote goals and initiatives.
• Support TGAs related to power for data centers, decarbonization, and grid modernization.
