Job summary

Gilbane Building is seeking an Energy Marshal to lead energy isolation, LOTO, electrical safety, and energization activities on large-scale mission critical and data center projects. You will serve as the site authority for energy management, ensuring safe execution of commissioning, startup, shutdown, and energization while protecting personnel and equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years managing energy isolation, electrical safety, commissioning, or related ops on large-scale construction or data center projects.
• Hyperscale data center construction experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with commissioning teams, electrical contractors, and critical power systems.
• NFPA 70E/OSHA training or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead energy isolation and LOTO activities across projects to ensure safe execution.
• Coordinate shutdowns, de-energization, energization, and power transitions.
• Serve as site SME for electrical safety and regulatory compliance (OSHA, NFPA 70E).
• Review energy isolation permits, risk assessments, and related docs.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and verifications for energy control procedures.
• Collaborate with project teams and clients to plan energization and testing.
• Lead safety briefings and communicate upcoming shutdowns and system impacts.
• Investigate energy-related incidents and implement corrective actions.
