Job summary

CIBC is seeking an Associate for the Energy, Infrastructure & Transition (EIT) team in Houston. You will collaborate with senior bankers to build sophisticated financial models, perform industry research, and support deal execution across energy transition sectors including LNG and carbon capture.

The role emphasizes rigorous financial analysis, client interaction, and cross-functional teamwork within CIBC Capital Markets, based in Houston with opportunities to engage in diverse energy projects.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Math, Engineering, Business, Economics, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in investment banking or corporate finance.
• Interest in energy or energy infrastructure sectors.

Responsibilities

• Develop and audit sophisticated financial analyses and financial models.
• Prepare industry and financial analyses to identify opportunities.
• Lead industry valuation analyses including DCF, comps, and precedent transactions.
• Assist in proposals for equity, debt, M&A, and other advisory services.
• Organize presentations for potential clients and assist in business development.
• Conduct industry research to identify investment opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and other units in executing mandates.
• Assist in due diligence investigations and prepare offering memoranda.
