Job summary

Cantor Fitzgerald’s Energy group in Houston seeks an Investment Banking Analyst I – Energy to join a lean, deal-focused team. The role offers early responsibility, working directly with senior bankers from client conversations to closing, with exposure to upstream, midstream, downstream, and oilfield services sectors.

You will build models, perform valuations, and assist with client materials and due-diligence, while collaborating with NY and London teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with expected graduation between Dec2026 and Jun2027; 3.5+ GPA on a 4.0 scale.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated interest in energy sector and capital-markets dynamics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; capable of presenting analysis to senior bankers and clients.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain detailed financial models (operating, DCF, accretion/dilution, LBO, commodity price sensitivity).
• Perform valuation analyses using comps, precedent transactions and NAV methods for energy assets.
• Prepare pitch books, confidential information memoranda, and other client-facing materials.
• Conduct industry research across conventional energy, power, renewables and infrastructure.
• Support due-diligence processes, manage data rooms and coordinate with clients and other parties.
• Draft internal approvals and committee materials ensuring compliance with firm policies.
