Job summary

Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP seeks a senior Business Development Associate Director for Energy & Infrastructure, based in any US office. You will shape go-to-market strategy, cultivate clients, and convert market opportunities into revenue across the E&I sector.

The rolepartners with senior leadership and the BD team to translate sector knowledge into value, drive proposals, and oversee events, thought leadership, and rankings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of marketing experience in business development and marketing for the E & I sector.
• A passion and deep understanding of technology clients’ needs at all stages of development.
• Strong client service approach with the ability to build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• A collaborative and team-oriented mindset, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, results-driven environment.
• Exceptional communication skills, with expertise in crafting and delivering distinctive and engaging stories.
• Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with a high degree of detail and accuracy.
• Exercises sound judgment and professionalism. Handles sensitive, confidential material with discretion.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate needs, identify opportunities, and drive initiatives to completion. Strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning & Client Cultivation: set BD priorities, lead strategy, and use market intelligence to pursue opportunities.
• Client Development & Revenue Growth: drive revenue via pipeline management and key account programs; cross-sell across practices.
• Oversee tailored proposals and pitches; collaborate with Pitch team; ensure consistent positioning.
• Lead thought leadership and external positioning; align with rankings and events.
• Rankings, Awards & Directories: direct content across rankings and directories; ensure differentiation.
• Build and manage a high-performing BD team; coach partners; drive initiatives to completion.
• Define and track KPIs; translate performance data into leadership insights.
