Job summary

Sbf-Search,-LLC is seeking a Director of Energy Engineering and Project Development to lead the technical development of large-scale energy performance contracts while mentoring a distributed engineering team.

The Director will translate customer objectives into executable project plans, ensure rigorous energy savings calculations and M&V plans, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver successful projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of management experience in ESCO or equivalent
• 7+ years of engineering experience in ESCO or energy performance
• Experience developing large, complex performance contracts with multiple ECMs
• Leadership of engineering teams, including distributed/remote personnel
• Strong customer-facing experience with executives and facilities stakeholders
• Expert understanding of energy savings calculations and baselines
• Knowledge of M&V methodologies and performance-contracting requirements
• Ability to manage project-development schedules, resources, budgets, and expectations

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a distributed team of energy engineers across the project-development pipeline
• Direct technical development from discovery through engineering, contracting, and implementation
• Serve as senior technical contact for customers, executives, and facility teams
• Translate objectives into project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables
• Lead development of ECM portfolios from conventional to complex engineered solutions
• Provide technical oversight of HVAC, lighting, controls, and energy systems
• Ensure ECMs are engineered to understand cost, savings, and risk
• Own energy savings calculations, baselines, and utility analysis
• Develop/approve M&V strategies aligned with project requirements
• Balance customer savings with technical and savings-guarantee risk
• Conduct technical/financial reviews to identify risks pre-proposal
• Coordinate engineering with sales, estimating, construction, procurement, and finance
• Manage multiple projects with priorities, schedules, budgets
• Communicate complex concepts to technical and executive audiences
