Job summary

NRG Energy seeks a seasoned Director of Project Development to lead multiple new utility-scale gas-fired power generation initiatives from inception to operation. You will oversee land acquisition, design, interconnection, permitting, financing and community engagement, while delivering on schedule and budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in business or engineering required.
• Experience with energy project development, financing and operations.
• Strong negotiation, communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conceive and originate independent power plant development opportunities.
• Lead day-to-day development process to ensure timely, cost-effective results.
• Coordinate internal analyses, engineering, cost estimates, permitting and negotiations to create supply proposals.
• Identify and manage project risks to protect project viability.
• Report progress to VP Business Development and senior management.
