Job summary

Trane Technologies is inviting energetic engineering students to join our Energy Engineering co-op program in Ohio. You will work with our Digital Services team on the Intelligent Service and Energy Services businesses to benchmark buildings, analyze utility data, and quantify efficiency gains for clients.

The program includes rotations within energy, HVAC, and building automation domains, with potential paths into Energy Services, Intelligent Services, and Technical Sales roles.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferred disciplines: Energy, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial.
• Be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
• This role requires on-site in-office work to foster collaboration and learning with teammates. Opportunities exist to convert to Hybrid and/or relocate to another office in the Southeast region depending on the candidate and business needs.
• Possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, ability to provide proof of insurance, and have no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to:
• DUI in the previous 3 years
• Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and teach customers how to understand their utility bill and how to connect building operations to their organization’s mission.
• Benchmark potential customers’ buildings against industry peers and quantify what is possible if they partner with us.
• Support the day-to-day fulfillment of Intelligent Services agreements by acting as an integral member of an account team; utilizing utility bills to update energy visuals, ENERGYSTAR scores, and carbon emissions.
• Participate in customer consultation meetings and energy audit walkthroughs under the supervision of a mentor.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferred disciplines: Energy, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial.
