Job summary

Trane Technologies is offering a 12-week Summer internship for future Energy Engineers across North America. The role focuses on diagnosing energy opportunities, performing energy analyses, and contributing to energy conservation projects in commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities.

Interns will collaborate with Account Managers and Engineers, gain hands-on experience with energy audits, reporting, and project development, and may join the Graduate Training Program after graduation.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering throughout the summer internship.
• Candidate must have completed at least their sophomore year before start of internship.
• U.S. citizen or lawfully eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Posting covers multiple opportunities; some roles may be remote, hybrid, or onsite at North American facilities.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Account Managers and Energy Engineers to diagnose energy opportunities in customer facilities and deliver small energy projects.
• Provide technical analysis and project risk assessment for energy projects.
• Shadow building walk-throughs and identify energy conservation measures across facilities.
• Collaborate on developing reporting capabilities from a software and usability perspective and explore new technologies.
• Prescribe methods for measurement and verification of system performance during acquisition.
• Analyze data outputs for trends and deviations needing investigation.
• Assist with opportunity qualification including Preliminary Audits, Benchmarking, Site Surveys, and Interviews.
• Collect and develop benchmark summaries to illustrate building/system performance.
