Job summary

City of Cleveland seeks an Energy Program Manager to lead energy efficiency, renewable energy projects, and decarbonization initiatives. You will manage data systems, coordinate with finance and planning, and supervise staff and consultants to achieve Climate Action Plan goals.

Ideal candidates have strong project management, Excel proficiency, and experience in municipal sustainability, with a focus on equity and environmental justice in program delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant scientific/engineering/public administration field.
• 3–5 years in municipal or large organization sustainability roles, with energy management exposure.
• Experience with energy data, audits, and decarbonization initiatives.
• Familiarity with building energy systems, BAS, and energy procurement.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities and support programs to improve energy efficiency and renewable capacity.
• Apply equity and environmental justice principles in daily work on climate initiatives.
• Develop partnerships to scale decarbonized energy systems with utilities, vendors, and agencies.
• Manage energy efficiency projects for the City and collaborate with multiple departments.
