Job summary

Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company (MMWEC) is seeking a Plant Operations Manager for the Stony Brook Energy Center to oversee safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation. You will supervise four Shift Supervisors and fourteen Plant Operators, ensuring regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.

The role requires extensive leadership, budgeting, and plant engineering experience, with a focus on safety, training, and external coordination of maintenance and operations

Qualifications

• Senior technical supervision in power plant ops.
• Experience with heat rate analysis and economic evaluation.
• Budgeting and business planning experience.
• Knowledge of NERC regulations.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of Shift Supervisors and Plant Operators to ensure safe, reliable operation.
• Develop, implement and review operating records and procedures for efficiency and safety.
• Review daily operations to identify trends impacting future performance.
• Coordinate maintenance and equipment shutdowns for scheduled work.
• Provide ongoing training and enforce safety and regulatory standards.
• Maintain and review safety permits and compliance documentation.
