Job summary

Miami University Energy Systems seeks an Energy Production Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the steam plant, electrical generation plant, remote boilers, and distribution to campus facilities.

You will supervise staff, manage budgets, coordinate preventive maintenance, outages, and environmental testing, and drive long-term energy projects while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 5 years of plant management experience.
• Associate’s degree in engineering or related field with 7 years of plant management experience.
• Ten years of experience in facility or plant management including electric and steam production and equipment maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe operation and maintenance of electrical and steam production systems.
• Develop preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with external consultants and contractors for energy systems.
• Provide 24/7 technical support during emergencies and outages.
• Develop SOPs and manage outages and major overhauls.
• Schedule environmental testing and manage budgeting and purchasing.
