Job summary

Goldfish Swim School in Minnesota is seeking a patient, energetic Swim Instructor to bring our curriculum to life in the water. You’ll teach kids foundational water safety and swim skills, build genuine connections with families, and own each child’s progress with warmth and consistency.

You’ll deliver lessons, enforce safety rules, evaluate progress, communicate with parents, and contribute to a clean, safe pool environment while fostering a love of swimming and a growth mindset.

Qualifications

• Available for evening and weekend shifts.
• Experience as lifeguard, youth coach, camp counselor, childcare provider or similar.
• Comfortable in the water; swimming experience preferred.
• Natural communicator who connects easily with kids and reassures parents.
• Willing to obtain lifeguard certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver swim instruction using the Goldfish Swim School curriculum with energy and focus on student growth.
• Enforce pool safety rules daily to maintain a secure environment.
• Evaluate student progress and complete skill evaluations on time.
• Communicate with parents after lessons about progress and next steps.
• Use problem solving to help students overcome challenges and progress.
• Maintain and store pool equipment properly, including lane lines.
• Assist with light cleaning duties as needed.
