Job summary

Mad Science in San Jose is seeking an instructor for part-time, in-classroom science enrichment sessions. You will deliver a one-hour, hands-on program using a pre-set curriculum and manage setup and equipment between sessions.

Ideal candidates have classroom or camp teaching experience, a friendly and flexible attitude, and availability Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Training and materials are provided, with 2–3 workshops daily at a rate of $40 per workshop.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching children in a classroom or camp environment.
• Friendly, flexible, dynamic and passionate about supporting children’s learning.
• Available M-F between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
• Reliable transportation not using public transport or rideshares.
• Fingerprinted for criminal background checks and TB tested.
• Some college coursework completed.
• Fun and outgoing personality.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate a one-hour in-classroom science enrichment program using a pre-set curriculum.
• Each session is a high-energy, part entertainment, part education, hands-on class.
• Pickup/drop-off and maintenance of equipment.
