Job summary

Mad Science is seeking energetic STEM instructors to lead after-school and morning sessions for elementary children. You will deliver engaging, inquiry-based activities, supervise demonstrations, and guide take-home projects to show how science impacts daily life.

The role is part-time to semi-full-time and somewhat seasonal, with hourly pay starting at $22.50–$30 DOE. Opportunities for additional classes and hours exist for motivated educators.

Qualifications

• Some experience working with groups of children (4-12) in educational settings.
• Must be available at least three weekdays during programming hours.
• Reliable car and proof of valid insurance required.
• Background check (DOJ/FBI) and negative TB test required.
• Vaccination proof and/or COVID testing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate day camps, in-person workshops, and after-school science programs.
• Deliver high-energy, engaging, hands-on science activities for children weekly.
• Drive to multiple LA and Ventura County locations; ensure safety and supervision.
