Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Energetic Technician 2 or 3 for its Elkton, MD location. You will support processing, handling and testing of energetic materials and electromechanical systems under strict safety protocols, coordinating with DCMA oversight and various production areas.

The role requires reading blueprints, performing routine testing, and ensuring timely, compliant workmanship while working with hazardous materials and in a cross-functional team environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and follow written manufacturing instructions.
• Exposure to Chemistry and vocational training such as soldering, woodworking, metal working, electrical, automotive assembly and finishing, welding, or mechanical training.

Responsibilities

• Follow directions of supervision and lead technicians for the fabrication of rocket motors.
• Work with explosives and chemicals during processing of propellant and rocket motor components.
• Read and follow written manufacturing instructions; coordinate with non-manufacturing personnel to meet build requirements.
• Operate production equipment such as mixers, presses, lathes, scales, hoists, forklifts, ovens, and paint booths.
• Identify discrepancies in design, planning, or manufacturing non-conformance and report them.
