Job summary

Northwell Health in New York is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to assist physicians during endoscopic procedures and ensure a safe, efficient environment. You will care for instruments, prepare rooms, and anticipate the needs of the Endoscopist.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, documenting data, stocking supplies, and collaborating with the team to uphold patient comfort and procedural quality.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED equivalency, required.
• Minimum of one year experience in health care, required.
• Nursing attendant experience preferred.
• Computer literate with knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, and Olympus Image Manager, required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Self-starter, team player, works well under pressure with strong interpersonal and manual dexterity skills, required.
• BLS through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assists physician with all endoscopic procedures, recording patient data and vital signs.
• Prepares room and endoscope, ensures supplies needed, follows Endoscopy policy.
• Maintains a therapeutic environment and patient comfort.
• Maintains and tests equipment, reports malfunctions.
• Cleans procedure room and endoscopes after procedures.
• Enters patient data into Image Manager as trained by manufacturer.
• Collects and labels specimens per guidelines.
• Stocking and maintaining supplies in procedure rooms daily.
• Participates in staff meetings and training sessions.
• Performs secretarial duties and transporter duties as assigned.
