Job summary

Northwell seeks a Full-Time Endoscopy Tech to support GI and bronch procedures under the Endoscopy Nurse Manager. You will prepare rooms, assist physicians, and manage endoscopic instruments and supplies, following universal precautions and aseptic techniques.

Responsibilities include handling endoscopes, maintaining the instrument table, restocking supplies, assisting with conscious sedation monitoring, and training new staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of job-related experience.
• CPR certification required.
• Must be eligible to obtain CBSPD or IAHCSMM certification no later than 2 years after hire.
• Knowledge of infection control procedures is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepares rooms with instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment for endoscopic procedures.
• Assists physicians during endoscopic procedures using universal precautions.
• Follows aseptic techniques and proper handling of sterile supplies.
• Maintains and cleans endoscopes and accessories; ensures proper function of equipment.
• Prepares and monitors conscious sedation supplies and monitors patient safety during procedures.
• Trains and precepts new employees and participates in total quality management.
