Job summary

Advocate Health in Park Ridge seeks an Endoscopy Technician to support patient transport and peri-procedural care. You will assist with positioning, basic care, and ensuring safety during electrocautery while handling specimens and coordinating with the RN and physicians.

Responsibilities include room setup, adherence to SGNA decontamination standards, and contributing to rapid procedure turnover in a high-demand environment.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year related experience.
• Patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient patient transport to, within and from the unit.
• Assist with patient positioning and basic care during procedures.
• Ensure patient safety during electrocautery; verify grounding and equipment function.
• Handle lab specimens and assist in collection, labeling, and transport.
• Assist with procedures under RN guidance.
• Set up rooms and equipment to optimize turnover in the procedure area.
• Communicate pertinent information to RN/Charge Nurse/Manager/Physician.
• Assist in pre/post-procedure care with vital signs, patient transport, and dressing changes.
