Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking an Endoscopy Tech for Austin Endoscopy Center. You will assist with care of patients undergoing GI/endoscopy procedures under supervision of a GI/Endoscopy Nurse.

Expect to maintain a sterile environment and support the endoscopy team. Responsibilities include preparing the unit, sterilizing equipment, cleaning rooms between cases, and handling specimens with the surgeon and circulating RN.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred.
• One-year acute care experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment (online certification not acceptable).

Responsibilities

• Maintain a sanitary environment for patients.
• Demonstrate high disinfection and sterilization of endoscopy equipment.
• Prepare the endoscopy unit and ensure availability of GI equipment and supplies.
• Clean GI treatment rooms between procedures and prepare rooms for the next case.
• Assist in the maintenance, care and labeling of specimens.
• Identify specimens with the surgeon and pass to the circulating RN.
