Job summary

South Texas Health System is seeking an Endoscopy Tech to work with the endoscopy team, preparing the suite and assisting with procedures. The role requires knowledge of endoscope reprocessing, aseptic technique, and equipment maintenance per AAMI standards.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, current BLS, and preferred certification in CER with IAHCSMM; military or surgical tech experience is a plus. Must be proficient in English.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or higher; current BLS certification.
• Graduate from Surgical Technologist program or 1 year performing surgical technologist duties or military program certificate preferred.
• Certified: Nursing assistant, Surgical tech or GI Technical Specialist (GTS) preferred.
• Solid working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Computer skills: Provation and OneSource.
• Working knowledge and clinical experience with endoscopes.
• Adherence to Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; report issues as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the endoscopy suite according to patient age, medical condition, and physician preference.
• Assist with endoscopy and minor surgery procedures; maintain aseptic technique.
• Demonstrate competency in endoscopy reprocessing and equipment maintenance per standards.
