Job summary

University Cancer & Blood Center in Georgia seeks a full-time Endoscopy Tech to support the Advanced Endoscopy of Georgia unit, assisting in OR organization and daily function, under policies and standards.

Must have a high school diploma or GED, current BLS, and two years of endoscopy or surgical experience. Certification as a CFER is preferred, with ability to work independently and as part of a team; cross-training across areas to support patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS required.
• Two (2) years’ experience of endoscopy or other surgical experience.
• Certified Flexible Endoscopy Reprocessor (CFER) preferred.
• Ability to work independently and closely with a team.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment problems.
• Report malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel.
• Demonstrates awareness of protocol for malfunctioning equipment and repair.
• Anticipates the need for equipment and supplies based on surgeon preference.
• Selects equipment and supplies in an organized, cost effective and timely manner.
• Assures all equipment is functioning before use and removes any malfunctioning equipment.
• Demonstrates skill in appropriate use of instruments and equipment.
• Operates mechanical, electrical and air-powered equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions.
• Assures emergency equipment and supplies are available at all times.
• Keeps procedure rooms clean, tidy, free of soiled equipment and supplies, and properly stocked.
