Job summary

Piedmont Cartersville Endoscopy is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to assist physicians in endoscopic and interventional cases. The role maintains Endoscopy supplies and equipment, cleans and disinfects instruments, and delivers patient care under RN guidance in Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with GI/OR Technology training preferred, and at least 2 years of Endoscopy experience. BLS certification is required; GTS/AGTS certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of GI/OR Technology program preferred.
  • 2 years of Endoscopy Tech experience required.
  • Previous experience in Endoscopy preferred.
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support current AHA BLS certification upon hire required.
  • GTS Certification preferred.
  • AGTS Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the physician in the performance of endoscopic and various complex interventional cases.
  • Maintains supplies and equipment in the Endoscopy Department in proper working order.
  • Cleans and disinfects equipment according to unit and hospital policy.
  • Provides appropriate patient care to the Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy patient under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
  • Performance of clerical duties as necessary to assure optimal function of Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy.
  • Assemble and maintain patient chart material, maintain records and files, maintains order, cleanliness of the workstation.
  • Completes charges for patients.
