Job summary

GI Specialists of Georgia is seeking a qualified Endoscopy Tech to support procedures in our Endoscopy Center. You will assist physicians during EGDs, colonoscopies, and related exams, prep specimens, and maintain equipment.

We value patient safety, teamwork, and continuous learning. This role requires physical stamina, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and adherence to infection control standards; a High School Diploma and BLS are required, with on-site work in Georgia.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Current BLS certification or willingness to obtain within 3 months.
• Knowledge of medical instrumentation, disinfection processes, and infection control.
• Prior GI Tech / Endoscopy Tech / Surgical Tech / Sterile Processing Tech preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist in moving patients up to 350 pounds.
• Strong critical thinking, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with procedures such as EGDs, colonoscopies, sigmoidoscopies, and more.
• Collect and prepare specimens for pathology, microbiology, and cytology.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain scopes and instruments according to guidelines.
• Document procedures and specimens accurately in the electronic system.
• Anticipate equipment and supply needs; keep procedure rooms well stocked.
• Provide compassionate support to patients and families before, during, and after procedures.
• Assist RNs/LPNs with patient care and recovery under supervision.
• Adhere to AAAHC, OSHA, and infection control standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment throughout the center.
