Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks an RN for Endoscopy to provide perioperative nursing care under supervision. You will assess patients, plan and implement intraoperative care, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the surgical team.

GI Lab experience is preferred, and a valid Texas RN license with BLS/ACLS is required. The role involves a 7:30–16:00 shift, Monday–Friday, with on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program.
• One year of RN experience; GI Lab/Endoscopy experience preferred.
• Current Texas nursing license; BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document patient health status on admission and intraoperatively.
• Communicate health data to the team and plan care with physicians.
• Perform intraoperative nursing interventions and document promptly.
• Provide patient education and ensure understanding by patient and family.
• Supervise and coordinate care for other staff; delegate within legal parameters.
• Prepare supplies and equipment for procedures; maintain patient safety.
