Job summary

Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City, IL is seeking an Endoscopy RN to provide safe, compassionate nursing care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. You will assess patients pre- and post-procedure, prepare the suite, assist physicians, and educate patients and families.

The role requires current Illinois RN licensure with BLS/PALS/ACLS within six months if not current, and may prefer prior endoscopy or surgical experience. 40 hours weekly, 4-10 hour days, on-site.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois licensure is required.
• BLS, PALS and ACLS certifications must be obtained within six months of hire if not current.
• Experience in surgical or endoscopy settings is preferred.
• Ability to assess patient needs and provide education to patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-procedure assessments including medical history, vitals, allergies and current medications.
• Assist physicians by preparing the endoscopy suite and handling instruments.
• Provide post-procedure recovery care and discharge education.
• Document procedure details accurately in EMR and ensure informed consent has been obtained.
