Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Night shifts. Under supervision of a nurse, you will perform routine patient care activities and delegated procedures as competency documents designate.

Responsibilites include assisting with changing and dressing patients, transporting patients, identifying abnormal vital signs, and reporting findings to nursing staff. CNA and BLS are required; one year of clinical experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.
• BLS certification provided by AHA, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
• One year of clinical experience or successful completion of the intern program.

Responsibilities

• Assist the patient with changing/dressing.
• Transport the patient by stretcher, bed, or wheelchair.
• Identify abnormal findings that could affect surgical and patient outcomes.
• Report all abnormal findings to the appropriate nursing staff.
• Escort patients to holding rooms.
• Assist with patient changing and removal of belongings.
