Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Technician for night shifts to support nurses with routine patient care tasks and safety monitoring in a hospital environment.

Under supervision, you will assist with activities of daily living, transport patients, and identify abnormal findings for timely reporting. A CNA and BLS certification are required, with at least one year of clinical experience or completion of an intern program.

Qualifications

• CNA certification is required.
• BLS certification (AHA/Red Cross/Military Training Network) is required.
• One year of clinical experience or completion of the intern program.

Responsibilities

• Assist the patient with changing/dressing.
• Transport the patient by stretcher, bed, or wheelchair.
• Identify abnormal findings (vital signs, Accucheck, labs, EKG, CXR) and report to nursing staff.
• Escort patients to holding areas.
• Assist with patient changing and removal of belongings (jewelry, dentures, contacts).
• Verify patient information.
• Orient patients and families to the environment.
• Obtain vital signs.
