Job summary

SCA Health in Auburn, MA is seeking a registered nurse to develop and implement individualized perioperative care plans, protect patients from injury, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

You will administer medications safely, monitor patients during anesthesia and recovery, provide clear hand-off reports, and uphold infection control and patient privacy throughout the perioperative continuum.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current state nursing licensure to practice in good standing.
• BLS/BCLS within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS certification within 90 days if required by unit scope.
• GI nursing or perioperative experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop an individualized perioperative plan of care by implementing clinical interventions.
• Protect the patient from injury caused by extraneous objects and hazards.
• Demonstrate safe operation of equipment and report unsafe situations.
• Speak up with safety concerns and act as the patient advocate.
• Administer medications safely using the eight rights of medication administration.
• Manage patient recovery from anesthesia and monitor status per policy.
• Provide hand-off reports that are accurate, concise and pertinent.
