Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC seeks a Clinical Support Technician II to assist caregivers in delivering patient care, transport patients and equipment, and maintain patient care unit desks. The role includes clinical tasks and administrative duties to support endocrine care services at UNC Hospitals Outpatient Center at Eastowne.

Responsibilities include assisting with examinations, monitoring patient conditions, maintaining records, and supporting nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Fluent in verbal and written English language.
• Demonstrated ability to develop computer skills if not competent.
• High school diploma or GED; higher level degree may satisfy requirement.
• Listed as a Nursing Assistant I by NC DHHS; licensed as Nursing Assistant II by NC DHHS.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures and procure equipment and supplies.
• Review patient care documentation and report significant changes to RN or physician.
• Perform clerical tasks: organize workload, greet visitors, verify orders for logic and clarity, answer phones and transcription.
• Provide administrative and clerical support including PI audits and data entry.
• Provide clinical support: cleaning, troubleshooting equipment, changing linens, inventory, transporting patients and supplies.
• Offer direct personal care per plan of care: bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation support; measure vital signs; potential specimen collection and basic wound care.
