Job summary

UNC Health Care in Chapel Hill is seeking a Clinical Support Technician II to join the Urology Support Services team. The role blends administrative tasks with direct patient care to improve clinic and procedural access.

You will perform clerical duties, pre-procedure coordination, patient transport, and basic patient care under supervision, with cross-training to cover clinical needs in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Nursing Assistant I and II licensure/certification.
• BLS certification required.
• 1 year clerical or customer service experience; 3 months nursing assistant experience.
• Must be fluent in English and able to develop computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with routine examinations and procedures, and procure equipment and supplies.
• Review patient care documentation for changes and report to RN or physician.
• Perform clerical tasks: organize workload, greet visitors, research information, transcribe orders, and maintain medical records.
• Provide administrative support including PI audits and data entry.
• Provide clinical assistance: clean work area, maintain equipment, troubleshoot software/hardware, transport patients/supplies/specimens.
• Provide direct patient care per plan of care: bathing, feeding, ambulation, vitals, specimen collection, wound care, catheter care, and suctioning as trained.
