Job summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin’s Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide specialty care focusing on endocrine surgery. Based in Milwaukee, WI at Froedtert Hospital, the APP will contribute to patient care, safety, research, and teaching within a multidisciplinary team.

This 1.0 FTE, salaried position reports to the Surgical Oncology APP Manager and Endocrine Service Line leader, with two half-days monthly in Mequon and

Qualifications

• Minimum education: APRN requires Master's degree or higher in Nursing; PA requires Bachelor's degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies.
• Minimum requirements include BLS certification and DEA eligibility.
• APRN licensure (Wisconsin) plus national certification; AG-ACNP specialty is listed or equivalent.
• PA licensure in Wisconsin and NCCPA certification.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams in diagnosis and treatment of surgical endocrine conditions.
• Writes progress, procedure, admission, and transfer notes timely and accurately.
• Orders, performs, and interprets screening and diagnostic tests and communicates results.
• Assists with procedures beyond core scope as identified by Surgical Oncology services.
• Promotes continuity of care by communicating with patients, families, and staff.
• Participates in preoperative and postoperative patient care and education.
