Job summary

Ferring Pharmaceuticals Inc. is seeking a Maintenance and Shutdown Planner in Parsippany, NJ to oversee facility shutdowns, ensure safety and budget adherence, and coordinate cross‑functional activities.

You will manage planning, scheduling, and vendor coordination across Maintenance, Validation, Quality, and Operations. You will lead a comprehensive shutdown schedule, prepare action lists, and drive timely documentation and closeout while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent level of experience, preferably in engineering.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an FDA-regulated environment.
• Demonstrated strong project management skills.
• Comprehensive background in cGMP principles and concepts.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel; SAP experience a plus.
• Effective verbal and written communication with cross-functional teams.
• Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to address issues quickly.

Responsibilities

• Takes full ownership of the end-to-end process, ensuring execution and accountability at every stage.
• Ensures all staff/departments are informed of construction and maintenance activities; maintains clear status updates on shutdowns.
• Collaborates with Maintenance Leadership, Validation, Quality, and Operations to develop a shutdown schedule using Microsoft Project.
• Creates and oversees a shutdown planning action list with timely execution.
• Manages relationships with stakeholders including Maintenance and Production Team Leaders and Operations Leadership.
• Identifies opportunities for improvement and drives process optimization.
• Ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and purchasing policies and procedures.
• Evaluates asset planning and coordination strategy before and during shutdowns.
• Drives culture change to establish preparatory work before equipment downtime.
• Chairs the daily shutdown planning coordination meeting.
