End-to-End Manufacturing Lead, AI-Native Factory

Job summary

1872 AI is transforming industrial manufacturing by building AI-native factories capable of lights-out production from CAD to finished part with minimal human input. This role owns a product from customer drawing to shipped part, coordinating with the Head of Operations, Sr.

Manufacturing Engineer, and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery. You will be on the floor, tracking parts through cells, preventing non-conformances, and enabling fabrication teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Welding Engineering — or equivalent hands-on engineering experience.
• 2–8 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, product engineering, or technical program management.

Responsibilities

• Quote and estimate from customer drawings to delivery, owning the quote end-to-end.
• Review manufacturability and modify geometry to suit fabrication and robotics.
• Generate clear work instructions for fabricators and programmers.
• Release POs, manage vendor relationships, and coordinate outsourcing to minimize lead times.
• Follow active jobs on the shop floor with Sr. Manufacturing Engineer and team.
• Own day-to-day technical communication with customers and schedule changes.
• Coordinate QA activities and drive corrective actions with production.
• Contribute to the 1872 Manufacturing OS and playbooks.
