Job summary

Foundry Robotics in Emeryville, CA is seeking a Head of Manufacturing Engineering who will set the automation roadmap and build two teams: Manufacturing Engineering and Process Engineering. You will own DFM/DFA for multi-product lines, design a flexible, AMR-enabled factory, and lead initiatives from pilot to production.

This is a hands-on leadership role on the shop floor. You will hire and mentor engineers, drive standard work, takt, OEE and cost-aware design, while aligning with Facilities

Qualifications

• 12+ years in manufacturing engineering for complex electromechanical hardware.
• 5+ years leading engineers.
• Launched at least one high-volume or high-mix assembly line end to end.
• Hands-on DFM/DFA with customer or design interaction.
• Deep process fundamentals: PFMEA, control plans, capability studies, standard work, takt and OEE.
• Experience building and growing an engineering team.
• Bias toward action and rigorous problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Own multi-year manufacturing automation roadmap and defend it with takt and capex data.
• Design and launch a flexible assembly line for multi-product runs.
• Deploy foundation-model-driven automation with software and robotics teams.
• Specify autonomous material movement to reduce manual pushing.
• Own Emeryville factory layout and ITAR-segregated areas with Facilities.
• Build DFM/DFA practice to catch cost/quality in early customer discovery.
• Build Process Engineering team for standard work, cycle time, and yield.
• Own new product introduction from handoff to ramp and production.
