Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Building Enclosure Project Associate to join our Southeast Building Science + Infrastructure team in Memphis, TN. You will support building enclosure consulting projects through field investigations, testing, technical analysis, and report preparation, collaborating with consultants to evaluate envelope performance and deliver practical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Architecture (NCARB).
• 2+ years of related experience with building enclosure consulting, including field investigations, testing, commissioning (BECx), design review, or forensic assessments.
• Licensed or certified in at least one of the following preferred but not required: Professional Engineer (P.E.), Registered Architect (R.A.), IIBEC certifications (RRC, RWC, REWC, RBEC, CBECxP), University of Wisconsin–Madison certifications (BECxP, CxA+BE).

Responsibilities

• Perform building science & infrastructure related testing, inspections, and consulting services.
• Conduct site observations and inspections of roofing and building enclosure systems.
• Interpret drawings, figures, and site plans; assist with drafting or CAD work when needed.
• Perform building enclosure testing and assist with development of testing protocols and test plans.
• Interpret test results, identify deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist with forensic assessments, commissioning activities, and building enclosure investigations.
• Assist with design reviews, repair design for existing building envelope components, and peer review of specifications and submittals.
• Maintain familiarity with building codes and standards including IBC, ASHRAE, ASTM, and CSI.
