Job summary

Michaels in San Mateo, CA is seeking an energetic Event Coordinator to plan and execute children’s parties and craft classes. You will engage customers of all ages, demonstrate projects, and help run add-ons like goody bags and balloons.

In this role, you’ll handle inquiries, support store teams, and ensure safety and cleanliness standards while delivering a fun, creative shopping experience. Retail/cs experience preferred, weekend availability helpful.

• Strong organization and problem-solving skills; able to work under pressure.
• Retail or customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events including children's parties and crafts.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct participants in craft projects; perform face painting and activities.
• Coordinate add-ons like goody bags and balloons in line with company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Handle emails, calls, and paperwork; administrative tasks.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs.
• Create backup plans for events; ensure client satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety; set up and break down events.
