Job summary

Michaels Stores in San Luis Obispo, CA is seeking an energetic Event Coordinator to plan and execute in-store events, including children’s birthday parties. You will engage customers, assist with shopping, run the checkout process, and support store operations while upholding safety and cleanliness.

Responsibilities include coordinating multiple events, instructing participants, and managing add-ons and communications with clients. Prior experience in retail or customer service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events within the store, including children’s birthday parties and craft events.
• Engage with guests of all ages to create a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate and guide participants in crafts; conduct face painting and activities.
• Manage event add-ons (goody bags, balloons) per company standards.
• Assist customers with shopping, locate products, and provide solutions.
• Facilitate fast, friendly checkout and enroll customers in Rewards programs and Private Label Credit Cards.
• Handle emails, calls, and administrative tasks; communicate with clients and team.
• Support store operations like truck un-load, stocking, and planogram tasks.
• Uphold cleanliness and safety; adapt plans as needed; ensure customer satisfaction.
