Job summary

Cisco Systems in Milpitas/San Jose is seeking an experienced Emulation Engineer to develop and optimize pre-silicon validation platforms. You will build emulation environments, contribute to RTL and infrastructure development, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure silicon quality.

The role requires strong C/C++ and TCL skills, plus hands-on experience with emulation tools and debugging. Onsite collaboration with the Nexus/ACI hardware teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in EE or CE with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Prior emulation on Palladium Z3 or Veloce, plus experience with RTL development.
• Experience with C/C++ and TCL infrastructure development.
• Familiarity with System debugging tools (gdb, waveform debuggers).
• Experience with HDL/Emulation prototypes and tests.

Responsibilities

• Develop emulation environments to evaluate performance of multi-terabit systems.
• Develop emulation infrastructure using C/C++ and TCL.
• Collaborate with design, DV, power and post-silicon diagnostic teams.
• Assist test plan design, test implementation, and debugging during pre-silicon emulation.
• Create tests to generate traffic and performance scenarios for pre-silicon validation.
• Coordinate with emulation vendors to resolve issues.
