Job summary

The Village at Germantown in Germantown, TN is seeking a Security/EMT to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff. Under the Security/EMT Manager, you will handle emergency responses, preplanning for evacuations, and ongoing safety training.

Ideal candidates have EMT certification, CPR, and 3–5 years of EMT experience. A valid driver’s license is required, and experience with health and safety regulations is preferred. This is a full-time on-site role in a senior living community.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and follow written and verbal directions.
• High School Diploma or GED required; accredited technical school preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years as EMT required.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Knowledge of regulatory and healthcare inspection processes and training mandates.
• EMT Basic or Advanced EMT and CPR certifications are required; Life Safety training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and evaluate emergency calls from residents to determine protocol and level of service; perform CPR and use all equipment to provide emergent care.
• Gather data during routine fire or security inspections to support current response plans.
• Contact outside resources to mitigate fire, security, paramedic needs; dispatch ambulance or non-emergency transport per protocols.
• Patrol community premises to prevent intrusions and ensure security of doors, windows, equipment, and vehicles.
• Respond to fire alarms by investigating locations and accompanying the fire department.
• Notify police and track intruder locations when unauthorized persons are present.
• Answer telephone calls and provide information when front desk is absent after hours.
• Monitors and adjusts building controls such as HVAC systems.
• Complete daily activity and incident reports; document equipment or property issues.
• Observe, correct, and report potential safety hazards.
• Document emergency and non-emergency incidents via written and electronic methods.
• Complete daily reports as assigned.
• Perform other duties to meet emergency situations as needed.
