Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Waterloo, IA seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations and determine donor eligibility.

You will evaluate donor testing results, manage donor adverse events, and coordinate with the Center Physician and Center Manager to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance. A strong customer-service mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including nursing program
• EMT-Paramedic license/certification
• CPR and AED certification
• FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
• Two years clinical or hospital experience

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, informed consent, and acceptance requirements.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical issues or unusual findings.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance.
