Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Medical Support Specialist with EMT credentials to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, review test results, manage donor adverse events, and coordinate with the Center Physician for medical issues.

You'll work under the Center Manager and BioLife Medical Affairs, ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards while supporting donor care and center workflow.

Qualifications

• Licensed/certified in the responsible state: EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN; CPR/AED certification
• Two years clinical or hospital setting experience preferred
• FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training required

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history, physical examination and SPE review
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
• Manage occupational health/ER incidents with EHS guidance
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs
