Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) in Waterloo, IA. You will determine donor eligibility, review test results, and support center operations under physician guidance.

The role requires EMT-Paramedic licensure, CPR/AED certification, and at least two years in a clinical setting. You will also assist with vaccination programs and incident management.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed/certified EMT-Paramedic in the state of responsibility.
• CPR and AED certification required.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting is needed.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including consent, history, and testing review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unclear findings.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs.
