Assist Ambulance in New York City is seeking EMTs in training to join the Communications Department as calltaker/dispatcher. The role involves high-volume non-emergency and emergency calls, coordinating crews, and supporting telemetry and GPS tracking.

Training is provided, with a focus on learning dispatch alongside a skilled team. Applicants must have 1 year of call-taking or customer service experience, an active NY EMT card, and be able to pass a 10-panel drug screen.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience with call-taking or a comparable customer service role.
• Active NY State EMT card is required.
• Ability to pass a 10 panel drug screen including THC.
• Strong customer service and professionalism.
• Proactive communication and teamwork in a high-stress dispatch environment.

Responsibilities

• Handle high-volume call-taking for EMS transports and emergency calls across NYC.
• Coordinate crews, buses, supplies, and equipment with a dispatch team.
• Support telemetry, radio, GPS services, and tracking software for operations.
• Learn dispatching processes under the Director of Communications.
